Owner noted of 5 by Larousse guide of champagne
Pierre Gonet and Chantal Brégon are brother and sister and run this champagne house since 2001. Their vineyards are located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (6 ha Grand Cru), in vertus, ludes and Rilly-la-Montagne (2 ha), and Montgeux at the Chapelle-Monthodon and Breuil (1.5 ha which produces only pinot noir from the house), 41 plots in total.
Chardonnay occupies 70% of the area and 20% of grapes are bought, mainly pinot noir. All plots are operated separately and all champagnes age 3 years on lees against 15 months required by the appellation.
Half of the production house Philippe Gonet is exported. A renowned champagne house.
Philippe Gonet champagnes are powerful and elegant. The blanc de blancs have nice mineral notes emerge more strongly when the dosage is small. they are drinking champagne aperitif and accompanying remarkably seafood, oysters and fish.
